Established in the name of Sri Ramakrishna, the modern prophet of harmony and God-realization, the Ramakrishna Foundation helps individuals serve the Divine in human beings living in various parts of the world.
The Ramakrishna Foundation was established for charitable purposes in January 1996 under California Corporation law. The Foundation helps people living in the United States give financial assistance to religious and spiritually-based organizations worldwide that promote religious harmony, that conduct cultural, educational, and service activities in light of the ideal of harmony, and that may run schools, colleges, orphanages, hospitals, and other establishments as part of their service activities. It is an approved tax exempt corporation under Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S.Internal Revenue Service code, and EIN # is 95-4587617
